chocolate nice cream

When the chocolate and peanut butter cravings hit but you’re trying to avoid additional sugar, look no further than this decadent nice cream that satisfies every way. Made with just overripe bananas, peanut butter and cocoa powder, it blends up into a creamy frozen treat worthy of the hardest to please sweet tooth.

The secret is simply freezing bananas until very soft. Their natural sugars caramelize into a dreamy soft serve consistency once processes. Blended with peanut butter, the result is an unbelievably rich chocolate experience – all with the added nutrition of fruit and nuts. My favourite way to enjoy it is scooping big dollops right from the freezer for an instant pick-me-up.

For an extra layer of nutrition, feel free to replace some of the bananas with a scoop of your favourite plant-based protein powder. Pea, hemp and brown rice varieties all work nicely. The flavour is undetectable but your muscles will thank you. Whatever additions you choose, rest assured this decadent dessert will satisfy without sending sugar crashes or digestive discomfort.

Best of all, prepping a big batch means you’ll always have a wholesome sweet treat on hand for slumps or late night cravings. Since the servings freeze individually, you can grab a pot anytime to satisfy that sweet tooth!

FAQs

Q: Will it still work if my bananas aren’t super ripe?

A: Bananas don’t need to be completely black, but very ripe and spotty is best. Underripe bananas may produce a grittier texture.
